1 year equals 1 step closer to our eternity

Wow three postings in one month! I am either A. proactive or B. trying to avoid studying for my anatomy final lol but either way I am happy to give you more updates of the Cumbie Family.  So Today officially marks the 1 year anniversary of mine and Kathys marriage.  We had nothing but loads of fun for Saturday to celebrate this wonderful celebration! We kicked off our Saturday with some good old pioneer breakfast with our ward in Rocklin! Such good food, people and great California weather!  It just reminds us of the hard work and dedication our church did to continue forth this great work. After we enjoyed a belly full of good food and good social company we decided to head to the mall because my wife wanted to "get something" aka find me a gift for our anniversary. My wife also showed me this awesome candy store we found in the mall here in Roseville!  No joke they had literally all my old child hood candies ever! They had jujubes, pez dispensers and they even had some of the best German/dutch chocolate!! Then my wife took me to the Vans store to spoil me with some new and fashionable vans :) She picked out the best pair ever and I love them! Then for our one year anniversary we went to this place called Flame & Fire for our One year anniversary! By far some of the best meat you could ever have. We had steak, garlic chicken, bacon wrap chicken and many more goodies!  Not only that but the restaurant gave us a complimentary desert in celebration of our anniversary!  Then we spent the entire night talking about our life, our goals and our unwritten story to come for our family.  It is crazy to think that one year has already passed by for us..I remember the first day I saw here almost two years ago.  I just arrived in the states from overseas and was just starting to get settled in and getting to know people.  Then I choose to head to this Roseville dance that our YSA ward was hosting.  I went alone, and mostly was in hopes to meet and find some new friends there. I feel though the lord wanted me to be there mostly to find my true love.  I was very shy and scared to ask anyone to dance because in all honest I was still new there but I found the courage to ask a cute girl to dance..My wife.  Ever since that day I have not regretted having the courage to ask her to dance.  Because for that dance was the beginning of our love to grow for one another.  Each day I was falling in love her more and more.  I still remember to this day....She was organizing a dance for the Davis YSA word and I was there helping set it up and during that night we were dancing as a couple, I began to see her not only as my girlfriend but my wife, the mother to my children and overall my eternal friend.  She saw in me something I feel I never could see...Hope.  She is the only one I have ever known to believe in me and make me realize I have so much to offer.  For that I am grateful to have this bond of marriage with her.  For this I think my lord for our love to unite us as one and makes us both complete.  I will always keep loving her, to the moon and back.

Happy Anniversary!!

Well that is all I have for now but I would like to end this with a poem that I am working on for our child but please bear with me it is still a rough draft :) enjoy!:

Angel from Above

When we found out you existed we became alive.
For your breath is what will make us thrive.
When we prayed for you above, he sent us your love.
The moment I saw your face, it was forever traced in my mind.
We dream of you night and day.
In our dreams we see your angelic features.
We feel your presence from heaven above.
You are our light, hope, faith and strength.
You are our angel from above

Summer Times!

Well this summer has been an interesting summer.  Kathy is working hard and long at her job, I have been going to summer school and choose to do anatomy in the summer! Yikes! It has been hard but totally worth it.  I feel as I begin to get into these studies and learn about the human body it makes me just realize how amazing our bodies are.  I mean they are created in the image of our father above :)  Not only that but it has been wonderful getting to know my baby.  We went to our third appointment and got to see our baby on the big screen, no joke!  The lady did a fun jelly rub on my wife's belly and we got to see in the screen our baby.  I could not stop smiling, it was incredible to see our far our baby has come from being a little embryo, to life.  Our baby right now is big and strong, just like his mom and pop :) I decided a few nights ago with my wife that I need to strengthen my Spanish skills.  I took Spanish in the spring and well did so so on it lol but I really want to better my Spanish skills so my child may have the gift of tongues aka language. I also feel I need to start trying to talk to my baby more so that he/she may recognize my voice and feel comfort from it. Another fun thing Kathy and I got to do was go to a fireworks show in Lincoln.  It was a blast, my wife got to get a corn on the cob stick Mexican style and her love for flaming Cheetos.  The fire works was awesome, sadly we did not get many pictures from it because of our phones dying but I got an awesome video clip of the firework show.  Also right now I am trying to find some part time work while I go to school, so far had one interview but haven't gotten a call back yet.  Hopefully something good will come from it or down the road I can find some part time employment.  I am just praying the lord can help me find work and be able to bring in a little more income for our family of 3 :) We also had a fun night of FHE with my wife and I.  It may be kiddy but I set up a lesson where we read the family proclamation and draw what is the family proclamation to us.  It was a fun success of cute drawings and spiritual feelings. I feel the more we study and learn that, the better we can center our family around our saviors love.On top of this I have had some major changes going on with me internally from learning of Christ's love. I have been reading the book miracle of forgiveness by Spencer W. Kimball and let me tell you it is an eye opening book to the saviors love for us all. I feel each time I read it I am grasping more of what the atonement is suppose to do for us.  I am hoping I can take these principles and apply them in my life daily.  Well that is all I have for now, hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did.  I will leave you with a fun scripture quote of the day.

Matt 5:8 "Purity of heart means perfection; and the perfect will not only see God but will have friendship with him."

Marriage, Going to school, and New bundle of joy

Well it has been along time since I have updated anything..I promise you I will try to be much more up to date on this Blog :)  Well since last march I spoke to you of a girl that I was very much in love with and just head over heels for..Well I asked her to be my bride for all time and eternity, we have been married now for almost a year..It is crazy how time flies, it was just a year ago I was getting ready to marry her and it is crazy but exciting to be here today with her, not only with her but the beginning of our family, our bundle of joy coming to us in January 2015..Not only that but I have gone back to school. I got out in December 2013 from active duty and now find my self in the reserves and going to school full time at Sierra College..I know I spoke of transferring to San Diego State or maybe UC Davis but we decided as a family to stay here one more year and move down to San Diego next fall...I know this will be a hard and much challenging move for our family, especially with the baby coming and that will probably be the most challenging for our family but I know it will be worth it...I think this last year has been full of surprises, trials, success but the main center for all of this has been our love for one another and our love to our savior..
